Making a Motivational Sign with our Free SVG

Pictured is an 8×8-inch Gesso board. I like adding vinyl to these cause they look so clean and white already. This Gesso Board is from Hobby Lobby in the drawing/painting section by the canvases.

Supplies for this Motivational Sign with free SVG

• Gesso Board ( I used an 8×8-inch one)
• Life is Short, Make it Sweet SVG
• Vinyl (adhesive)
• Embellishments (Ribbon from Close to my Heart)
• Cricut, or other cutting machine

Cut the vinyl out on your Cricut. Be sure to check the vinyl type you are using and select the right setting in Cricut Design Space (or what other cutter you are using).

This will make sure you get the best cut. We all know the pain of that cut project that didn’t cut all the way through, or cut too deep and ruined your mat.

When creating a sign or any DIY, I do like to edit colors in Design Space so I can see what the finished product will look like. This helps me make sure the colors will show and I won’t have to waste any vinyl.

So whatever popular color you pick, make these free files your own by adding your creative touch. Feeling drained? No reason you can’t make what we made too!

I usually just eyeball the design when adding it to items. Sometimes I’ll grab a ruler and measure out to make sure it’s centered. If it ever gets off-centered a bit, simply add an embellishment or something to make it look like I did that “on purpose.”

Add those embellishments is what I feel makes them my own DIY projects with my style. So get creative!
