Seriously the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Ever!
I am not a great cook by any means, but I do love to bake so I thought I’d share my favorite chocolate chip cookies recipe.
When I had kids (18 years ago as I type this post) I wanted to be known for the mom that made the best chocolate chip cookies ever. I think I held the title pretty well thanks to these. At least in their eyes anyway.
What’s the key to great cookies?
There’s a secret ingredient. Well, it’s not really a secret but it’s dang awesome and makes some yummy cookies!!!
Ready for the big reveal? It’s in the picture here…
Yep. Jell-O Vanilla pudding. Crazy right?
Who would have thought??? I guess it helps them stay soft and yummy for longer than without it. I love a gooey cookie or a cake-like cookie. This makes that happen!

Need a cute apron for baking?
Before we begin, do you have an apron? You can craft yourself a cute one using our SVGs shown here.
Ok. Enough yacky-yack. Let’s get baking!
Chelly’s Yummiest Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
- ¾ cup Brown Sugar (packed)
- ¼ cup White Sugar
- 1 package (3.4oz) Instant Vanilla Pudding (French Vanilla is good too)
- 2 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 2 ¼-½ cups Flour
- 2 cups Chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375° — Using a mixer, cream butter (room temperature) and sugar until creamy. Add eggs and mix through adding vanilla. Gently mix in dry pudding mix.
Combine 2 ¼ cups of flour with baking soda.
Mix into wet ingredients. If too sticky add up to another ¼ cup of flour if needed.
TIP: Now eat a few chocolate chips to make sure they are good. LOL. Add the remaining to batter and stir.
Drop by rounded tablespoon onto cookie sheet. I use an airbake cookie sheet when I bake mine.
Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes. Let cool for 2 minutes and move to cooling-rack or a place to cool before sealing in a container.
They are seriously so yummy. They don’t last very long when we make a batch of these.
Do you have a secret ingredient when you make cookies?
This looks like a fun cookie “hack” to try! Thanks for the recipe!
