Summer Recycled DIY Craft

Who doesn’t love a Upcycled or recycled DIY craft project. And as I was going through a closet and found this dome frame from a yard sale I had some inspirtation.

Summer Recycled DIY Craft Supply List

It’s one of those project where I had everything on hand to make this cute decore item. Here is a list of what I used:

  • Dome Frame (found at a yard sale
  • Material to adhere to the back cardboard
  • Flowers and ribbon
  • Accents: I used a wooden Mason Jar & some jewels (not shown)
  • Hot glue, tape runner, and small wire cutters (for flowers)

I always ruff out what I’m doing as well I can to make sure the sizes, colors, etc all look OK. I had to dig deep in my stash of a few things to find items that were small enough to fit in the dome without looking squished.

Here is what I started with but didn’t end up using it all…

Step one: Adhere material to frame back

I used double-sided tape and then trimmed the edges with my material scissors. I went back and added hot glue to the edges right before I framed it to help hold it. I wanted a smooth material-looking backing so I only used the hot glue on the edges that the frame out cover.

Step two: Paint and Glue the Mason Jar

I pained the embossed edge of the jar white to help it stand out a bit more.

Below here I am picking out thin little wooden heart I hot glued behind it.

Use something behind the mason jar to make it stand off the frame back a bit

This gave the jar some dimension and helped me add the flower stems behind it.

Step Three: Add all the pretties and frame it up!

This is where I added the ribbon and found these cute gems in my craft stash to use. I think they add a fun Summer theme for this upcycled DIY craft.

I loved how the yellow, red and blue accented each other here!

This was a simple upcycle way to use this frame.

It has a couple of scratches that would be really noticeable if I added a photo in it, this felt like the perfect way to make it cute again. What have you upcycled or DIY’d lately?
