Most people throw out old pickle jars. Not me. I wash and save them for years before tossing them into recycling. LOL! Until now! Now I can chalk paint them for every holiday. Today I used one with our free Snowflake SVG.

I cut a few shapes on my Cricut. Stuck them on the upper portion of the flat side of the jar and painted away. It’s really that simple.

I uploaded the SVG Snowflake I used here into my SVG Shop, so you can download it for FREE!

This project is perfect for beginners! We’ll use an SVG file and iPad to create a tea-light decor project. Perfect for holiday table decor or a gift idea for teachers or coworkers – I’m sure it will bring you ‘joy’ when creating it!

Supply List for Glass jar

This quick project with only a handful of supplies creates a pretty decor item.

This time, I didn’t water down the chalk paint like I usually use on furniture. I wanted a thick coating with brush strokes to add some texture. It definitely took 2 coats.

I used Annie Sloan clear wax that same day to wax the chalk paint. After it dried, I removed the snowflake vinyl and filled the jar with vanilla coffee beans I had lying around.

If I made them today, I would use the Rustoluem Chalk Paint. It is a better price, easier to paint with, and doesn’t require waxing afterward.

In my stash of goodies, I have a box of automatic tea lights (they turn on for 6 hours at the same time each day), and put one of them inside. I loved the timer ones!

Next, I went to my favorite store … MY stash of supplies … I added some twine, raffia ribbon, and pearls as accents and tada!

Cute and easy Christmas decor.

Next, I’d like to try some fall leaves or maybe some egg-shaped ones for Easter. Or even a flower or a simple circle to leave up all year.

Happy Crafting!
